The show is NOT a new animation, but rather a remastered version of Z. Damaged frames have been removed, the colors have been touched up, and the frames have been extended, due to widescreen televisions becoming the norm in recent years.

Goofs:

Revealing mistakes: The animators (correctly) remembered to correct Vegeta's color scheme prior to his arriving on Earth, however they failed to correct the color of Nappa's armor in these episodes. Likewise, Vegeta still appears miscolored during a flashback story told by Raditz.
