While Chloe's been away, Sam and Todd have been sneaking around.
Suddenly Sam's hearing something break so they stop. False alarm, it's
just her back! Then they hear something else that's not a back
breaking. It's Frank the doorman who's brought a package. Todd explains
he's been having troubles with Chloe while Sam-hiding underneath
cushions-tells Frank not to judge her. "It's too late for that!"
exclaims Frank. Sam and Todd resolve to meet at a bridge the next day.
When Sam tells Dena and Andrea about her and Todd, Andrea points out
she didn't start to like Todd again until she found him with Chloe. Sam
admits, "I like the buzz." Also, we find out Andrea is considering
buying the coffee shop they frequent with Dena perhaps wanting to
partner with her. When Sam arrives home, her mother Regina is all
dressed up. She replies she's "playing bridge with the girls" when her
daughter asks. When Sam relays this to Todd at the bridge as they're
kissing, she realizes her mom's having an affair. While Todd thinks
she's overreacting, Andrea remembers one night after she and Sam left a
dance club also seeing Regina outside with no ring on her finger which
was how she was when her daughter saw her that morning. So Sam
confronts her mother just as her lunch date with another man has ended.
Regina tells her not to judge since Sam had lots of affairs before her
accident. While the father, Howard, had been suspicious of his daughter
taking drugs because he saw her looking in his and his wife's drawer
(because he thought she was looking for money when Sam really was
looking for new underwear meant for mom), Sam takes him to the
restaurant that Regina was at. With the father driving around, Sam
finds out the real truth: Regina is the restaurant's hostess. She tells
her daughter not to tell Howard since that would mean to him he doesn't
provide enough for her. So when her father comes in having found a
parking space, Sam pretends to be guiding customers to cover her mom's
butt. When Sam meets Todd again, she tells him she wants him by
herself. Todd agrees. Frank's skeptical, but Sam is too happy to
care...Not as funny as the last episode but amusing and entertaining
enough to pass muster. While I'm willing to believe Regina, that "date"
with that man still has me wondering: Who is he? Andrea is so funny
being smart-alack whenever Dena says something to the effect of them
bonding like when Andrea says this line, "We're twins!" LOL! With one
more episode to go, I can't wait to see how it all ends! So until
then...
