Trivia:
Nick refers to a pig farmer from Canada who was accused of murder. He was referring to the real case of Robert Pickton, a farmer from Canada who fed women to his pigs. Pickton was convicted of the second-degree murder of six women and charged with murdering 20 more. He was sentenced to life in prison in 2007. moreGoofs:
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In the scene where Gil and Sara are sitting on the bed watching a movie, the movie they are watching is ‘Gorgo’ (1961). One of Gil's lines in this scene is "...just wait until they use the oxygen destroyer on him." The "Oxygen Destroyer" is from ‘Gojira’ (1954), not ‘Gorgo’ (1961). moreQuotes:
Gil Grissom: Did you know that pigs are very intelligent animals? Right behind chimps, dolphins, and elephants.Warrick Brown: Ahead of dogs?
Gil Grissom: And certain politicians.

*** This comment may contain spoilers ***
"Leapin' Lizards" was a good title for this episode, which involves people who think reptilian-like aliens are here on Earth to take over our planet.
A couple of very good special-effects made for two quick big laughs when one of the members of this cult sees "Brass" and "Sanders" as reptiles! Ally Sheedy, of "War Games" and 'Short Circuit" fame from the mid '80s movies, guest-stars in here a prime example of a person being duped into believing this nonsense and - more importantly - being used to so that she'd shell out her money.
Most of these far-out believers are always glad to pass out their money as is the case in this episode. Oh, yeah - there's a murder, too, with the victim's head mounted like a trophy on the wall!
We also get a very short scene with "Grissom" and "Sidle." That romance has been going on for a year but shown only a brief occasions and then very subtly.
Also subtly continuing during this entire season is the case of the "Miniature Killer." At the very end of this crime story, after it has been solved, we see "Gil" putting together a miniature house. I assume that, and the whole "miniature" case, will be explained and dealt with sometime in the next two weeks since that will mark the end of the 2006-07 season.
