I gotta say, when I originally came in to watch this program, I had
some pretty low expectations based on what I had already seen of the
show via the Internet. Boy was I wrong! Where to start? First, the
animation is excellent. I like how the animators often subtly pay
homage to the Spider-man films. In the first episode, there was a scene
that depicted Spider-man scaling a building at high pace. It was the
same scene that was used after Doctor Octopus had knocked Spider-man of
the train in Spider Man 2. Spider Man looks great and the capturing of
his movements has been the best capture in a Spider man series to date.
Having watched the first two episodes, I have no complaints in this
department.
Second, the scripts are top notch. It would do the series a great
injustice for me to merely provide a brief synopsis to both of the
episodes which I watched, so I would suggest you catch it when it airs
on WB next Saturday. That said, I will say that the episodes capture
all of the characters excellently. Peter Parker is still a guy (just
like the rest of us) who has his fair share of problems (can't get a
girl, can't get a job, unintentionally makes situations worse than they
are, and needs money to support his aunt) while trying to do the right
thing at all cost. While Spider man, his "banter through the fight"
routine is as amusing as ever. Aunt May is still a lovable old woman
who is very protective of her nephew, Flash Thompson is still the
typical high school jock who gives Peter trouble whenever possible, and
J. Jonah Jameson is still a hilarious gentleman who will do practically
anything to sell a paper. There have also been plenty of updates. Eddie
Brock is now someone who went to the same high school with Peter Parker
before going to college; Eddie is practically the big brother Peter
never had. Gwen Stacy is now one of Peter's best friends. And Electro
and the Vulture actually have real back stories now. In short, this
series has come with plenty of improvements.
There were a few problems which I had, but these problems are
incredibly insignificant; I thing the theme song is mediocre as well as
the guy who voices Harry Osbourne.
Overall, great show. To Parents: Spider-man is a great role model for
your children, so if you catch your kids watching this, I'd advise you
pull up a chair and join in on the fun; Super Hero series don't get any
better than this.
I want to give this show a 9.5, but since IMDb does not allow me to do
this, I suppose I'll just have to round my rating up to 10. If you're
new to the Spider-Man mythos, this series is just what you need. For
those who have been fans for a long time, you'll love it (especially if
you've had to abandon the Spider-man comics due to the idiotic events
of "One more Day." I highly recommend this series. recommend to people
of all ages.

I've watched every spider-man animated series there has ever been and
this one is by far my favorite of them all. The past series that I've
watched have so many flaws I can count them 10 hands, but this...
flawless so far!
Okay, the theme song is pretty weird, but I kind of like that too.
I love that it's more about the high school years with Gwen Stacy
(something that was left out of the 1st film Grrrr!) Though I seriously
doubt that the producers will kill the animated Gwen :P That's not
likely. Plus they're keeping faithful to the comic by making Mary
Jane's identity a mystery. Nice!
Compared to the 90s show, the animation is consistent from one episode
to the next. In the 90s series artists got lazy and repeated scenes or
it was drawn crappy one weekend, then beautiful the next. Spectacular
stays clean and well drawn. Even the action sequences are clean, like
Spidey's movements are so well done it's hard to believe. And thank you
so much for not incorporating 3D buildings....yuck! Spidey's jokes are
funnier than they ever been in any previous series as well. The
villains give him plenty of ammo.
Speaking of villains, they are so strategically placed throughout the
series it's amazing (no pun intended). Their stories are not rushed
like the 90's show. He's not babbling on and on about some girl while
fighting the baddie and then the scene gets cut back and forth
sporadically. I can't say anything bad about this show... yet. But I
doubt that they'll give me a reason to.
So until this one goes belly up, make mine Marvel!

After the very disappointing Spider-Man 3 I'm happy to see things
improve and what better way to improve by a whole new animated series.
This show is yet another reboot for the Spider, so far it's a good new
take. at first I didn't think I would care for this show, I really had
no interest but inside me I am a Spider-Man fan and therefore I had to
check it out when it first aired, and I loved every second of it. I
haven't been able to fault this show since it aired, everything seems
to be working out well in terms of humor, drama, characters, plots,
etc. Not only that the show has a pretty good pace of things, all
balanced right unlike some action packed shows which don't have a heavy
balance of all things considered.
I'm glad this show hasn't been another superhero disappointment like
The Batman was for me when that first aired, and progressed. This is no
The Batman, it kind of feels like the Batman: The Animated Series for
Spider-Man here, little bit, but in terms of being well written and
depth. Nothing highly dark or crazy here, yet.
Sometimes change is good, isn't it? Hope the series gets better and
better.

I liked the first episode as well as the second episode, but, there was
a lot of changing the characters and the stories. And it keeps going on
changing things for no reason. Like Montana becoming the Shocker was a
very bad idea in my opinion and Liz being Hispanic, Randy Robertson
being some kind of Fox's Kingpin, and making Eddie Brock a nice person.
But there is a lot of characters I really love in this show. Like The
Vulture, he had the perfect voice and a very cool design, Norman Osborn
seems just as badass as the Green Goblin, J.Jonah Jameson is hilarious
but he reminds me of the movie version of Jameson. Flash Thompson is
also funny, especially his retarded laugh.
This show has tons of very cool fight and action scenes. It seems like
every villain get their own "spectacular" fight scene with Spidey.
Spidey/Peter himself is great, a good voice and good character
development. They already shows Peter's problems.
A great show which keeps going better and better. And I love MJ's
classic line "face it tiger, you just hit the jackpot".
