Trivia:
The plot of "Moliere" was actually loosely based on two of his plays, ‘Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme’ and ‘Tartuffe’. moreQuotes:
Elmire Jourdain: [to Molière/Poquelin] Mr. Tartuffe, I understood long ago that men of the Church are for the most part mere actors, who endlessly repeat the same lines, with more or less conviction. moreFAQ

The lavish colorful and lush presentation of this period piece incorporates strong and powerful performances along with a wry sense of humor and a dramatic overlay of a script. The music and vivid images that pour in rainbow-like flares off the screen make this movie a heart-wrenching, humorous, and intensely moving movie through to the end. There is no prat falls, save one or two and by the end of the credits there is one scene that comedy continues. The seriousness of this movie is made hidden by the ease by which the dialogue flows even in French with English sub-titles. A nice balance of characters, comedy and drama on a level that seems effortless. Nine out of Ten Stars.
