Gabrielle is an ex- model, however she also worked for a very short time in a cosmetics shop, as well as helping as a consultant at the "Little Miss Snowflake" pageant. After discovering when it as born that the baby was black, the Doctor confirmed that there had been a mix-up with embryos.
