Actor Harrison Ford has denied reports his Indiana Jones sidekick Shia LaBeouf will replace his role as the action hero in a new installment of the franchise film.
LaBeouf starred alongside the 66-year-old actor as the whip-cracker's young friend Mutt Williams.
And the Star Wars actor insists there are no plans for the young star to take on the role he made famous, despite the open ending in summer blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Ford brushed off the rumours, sparked after he passed the archaeologist's trademark hat to LaBeouf's character, alluding to the switch.
He tells Moviefone: "No, that's never been (the idea)... I think it just doesn't work that way. And there's definitely a distinction between passing the fedora and someone picking it up."

For Karen Allen, her first day filming "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" with Harrison Ford involved excitement, adventure and very painful elbows.
"For our first scene, we're in a truck that's barreling down a very bumpy road," remembers Allen, "and we have to throw ourselves through this metal frame. The stunt guys were saying, 'Do you want elbow pads?' And we were both, 'Oh, no.' Then around take three, we were like, 'Could you throw those elbow pads in here?

Hindsight is 20/20, of course, but a lot of us saw this happening going in. I didn't love Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I didn't hate it, either, although there are parts of that movie that stink even by George Lucas' steadily sinking standards. I thought it was Ok, entertaining if you're a fan. Harrison Ford probably should hang up the fedora and Steven Spielberg needs to make more interesting movies.
The bottom line is that we didn't really need a fourth adventure.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone of South Park have, uh, another opinion. Here's a clip from this week's episode of South Park, featuring Indy Jones and his two creators.
I must warn you: It gets pretty graphic...
Well. They should have at least had the decency to do that in private.
And on that note: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Whether you're a South Park viewer or a reader of many film blogs, you've probably seen the disturbing (though not disturbingly funny) clip of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas raping Indiana Jones. As much as I too was disappointed with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, though, I find the South Park thing more upsetting, and I'll probably have a ...

So who watched the season premiere of South Park last night? I tell you, just when you think those boys are starting to get a bit weak in their old age, you're shown a scene featuring Steven Spielberg and George Lucas physically raping Indiana Jones as the poor man cries out for help. Oh yeah ... and did we mention Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull comes out on DVD this Tuesday? Yup ... and it's, er, loaded with extras!
Obviously this was their way of saying the latest Indiana Jones film sorta raped their childhood, but count me among those who kinda enjoyed watching the flick. (And I'm not alone -- here's Jeffrey's passionate post in defense of the sequel.) Sure, I could do without a few scenes here and there, but overall it wasn't terrible. What do you think? Did South Park cross a line last night?

South Park is back! The biggest balls on television had its return last night, and it couldn't have been more satisfying, especially to all of us who had to suffer the indignation of watching Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. In the episode, the boys confront the traumatizing experience of watching the film, which they remember vividly as "George Lucas and Steven Spielberg raping Indiana Jones." The phrase "they raped my childhood" gets thrown around a lot on the internet, but when you're Trey Parker and Matt Stone, you don't just say that. You take it to the full extent of that statement.

Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler have signed on to star in the next film from writer/director Frank Darabont, the psychological thriller Law Abiding Citizen. In the film Butler will star as a successful Da who becomes the target of revenge by a man (Foxx) who feels victimized by the legal system when his family's murderers are set free. Darabont, who was famously and unfairly jettisoned Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (read his Lucas rejected script here), co-wrote the script...

Last night saw the season premiere of "South Park" on Comedy Central and as you might expect it was hilarious in a completely disturbing way. While the main storyline revolved around Cartman's paranoia that the Chinese are taking over the United States, the B-story followed the rest of the South Park kids struggling to overcome something terrible and scarring they saw earlier that summer - Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. I'm sure you've all heard the...

David Frank knows more than you. Care to disagree? Everyone enjoys reading a Best of/Worst of list every now and again. We occasionally publish a Top 10 Whatever here on the website and the damn things are hit magnets. Their easily digestible format and promise of no heavy intellectual lifting for the reader make for fun, breezy reads. Plus, we all love to bitch, and if there's one thing everyone can agree on, it's that whatever particular list you come across, it sure blows compared to your list. And your list sucks compared to my list. And my list stinks compared to some other dude's list (humph, so says him). Limiting lists to 10, 50, or even 100 is what kicks, punches, and shakes the wasps' nest. Keeping the overall count small forces more editorial decisions, which is what leads to debate. Sorry, that film, that scene, that character is damn good, but not good enough.

Harrison Ford told The La Times that momentum is building for a fifth movie in the Indiana Jones franchise and that George Lucas is already cooking up a suitable plot for the project. “It’s crazy but great,” the 66-year-old Ford said. “George is in think mode right now.” “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” grossed $318 million in the U.S. alone and $770 million worldwide and is expected to be powerhouse seller on DVD and Blu-Ray when it arrives in stores Oct. 14. It was a film that many people in Hollywood assumed would never be made considering the difficulty in finding the right time and the right script to reunite Ford, Lucas and franchise director Steven Spielberg after the 1989 hit “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.” Now, though, the latest success and the fact that the franchise’s old machinery was revived has Ford thinking a fifth

When I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in theaters I was completely unafraid to say just how much adored and loved the first two-thirds and was moderately okay with the final climactic sequences. While I was not alone in that assessment (this film sits at 77-percent to the positive at Rotten Tomatoes), you'd think in the time after it was released I was bona fide insane, so many people willing to give you an earful on just how underwhelming they felt this action-adventure was. Watching it again on DVD I say phooey to all the naysayers and stick to my guns on the picture itself. This, almost two-decades in coming, sequel to George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford's last outing bringing globe-trotting archaeologist Indiana Jones to the screen is one heck of a lot of fun, and as far as old-fashioned Saturday matinee

George Lucas is working on a fifth Indiana Jones movie, according to the film franchise's star, Harrison Ford.
The actor insists Lucas was inspired by the worldwide success of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which has already grossed over one billion dollars around the globe, and is expected to be a big seller on DVD and Blu-Ray when it arrives in stores on 14 October.
Ford says, "George is in think-mode right now."

Now that Steven Spielberg's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" grossed $316.8 million domestically and about $770 million worldwide, it's no surprise the guys behind the film are already thinking about another sequel. After all, it's all about the money and not the quality, right?
In a recent interview with Geoff Boucher at the Los Angeles Times, Harrison Ford said George Lucas is already working on an idea for a fifth "Indiana Jones" film.
"It's crazy but great. George is in think mode right now," Ford told Boucher. "It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again."
While I didn't exactly hate "Crystal Skull," I wasn't really impressed by the latest installment either. I personally don't need to see another Indy adventure, but who knows,

After the critical drubbing George Lucas has received as a writer and storyteller, the news that he’s conceiving the plot for a fifth Indiana Jones movie must be met with skepticism. Still, Harrison Ford told The Los Angeles Times that Lucas has a plan. "It's crazy but great," Ford said. "George is in think mode right now."
While Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull may have grossed $318 million domestically and $770 million worldwide, it was also poorly reviewed noting it lacked the spark and originality that fueled the franchise earlier.
"It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again," the 66-year old actor told Geoff Boucher.
He spoke further about franchising the character in other media and said outright he would never consent to voicing an animated incarnation.
