I vaguely remembered seeing this when I was a kid. Rude dog was commonly seen on kids' shirts. Watching it now, I realize just how corny it was. They tried way too hard to make Rude Dog look cool, hip, young, etc. He had a black eye, and a pink eye. One ear was pink, and the other green, and he wore a studded collar. He even drove a pink Cadillac. He spoke in a dialect that sounded like a mix of Hollywood producer, Italian gangster, punk, and surfer. He called everyone "babe." The dweebs were his uncool friends who were always being chased by the dog pound, and Rude Dog had to rescue them. They all lived in a secret hideout together. The stories were nothing special, the cartoon itself was not particularly great or memorable.
I was excited to find a used VHS of this in a thrift store recently. It was titled "Rude Dog and the Dweebs, If You Got An Itch Scratch It." Watching it, I laughed at the lingo, I think it went something like "you ready to hang with Rude Dog? the rudest dude dog in town!" HAHA, it makes me think of Poochie from the Simpsons, or Poop Dog from Invader Zim. This cartoon isn't good enough to really pursue, sitting through it was somewhat of a difficult task. But if you're a cartoon fanatic like me, you may want to look for it, it was kind of a "cool" trendy thing from the late eighties.
