Trivia:
In John Riley's first scene as a San Patricio he asks their names to other Irish soldiers. When he asks his name to James Kelly, Riley asks him if he has any experience, and Kelly answers that he has been in His Majesty Royal Artillery. Riley replies with "Good experience, but there is no royalty here" to what Kelly answers "Yes, sir". Kelly is played by Prince Albert of Monaco, a member of the Royal family of Monaco. moreGoofs:

After waiting more than two years to see One Man's Hero, I was not disappointed last week when it was released in Los Angeles. This generally ignored event in our country's history was portrayed with powerful performances by the cast. From beginning to end I watched each scene and easily followed the story of the San Patricios. I came away from the movie saddened by what happened to this group of young men, and firmly believe that this country needs more movies that give us this kind of insight into our past, and let us judge for ourselves how we feel about that past. Praise to those who have the courage to make these movies in spite of Hollywood's constant production of the quick buck movies we see released each week.
