Trivia:
Ray Barone has a brother (Robert) who is a police officer for the NYPD. Ray Romano in real life has a brother who is a police officer for the NYPD. moreGoofs:
Revealing mistakes: In the episode with Raymond's diary, Marie makes like she is reading from Raymond's diary, however from the angle that she's holding it, it's obvious that there's no writing on the page except for a standard header on every page. Raymond also doesn't write anything when she asks him to amend the entry. moreFAQ

Yes, I agree with the majority here who have given Everybody loves Raymond a rating of about 7. Its good but not great and I doubt it will become a classic in years to come. Don't get me wrong, ELR has some very funny moments but at the same time some very lame stuff going on! Each episode starts out the same but as a fellow reviewer commented does unfold differently. The cast is great considering Ray Ramano and Brad Garrett are comedians rather than actors and they both come across as convincing enough. Personally Garrett's character (Robert) is my favourite with Peter Boyle's portrayal as Frank a close second. My only real gripe with the show is Marie, the Barone Mother. God, is she annoying! But still, worth watching even if it does take some (Like me)ages to get into. 5 out of 10
