i've given this film a 4, just for the story and Sophie ward only. I think, Ward was the only person that carried this film along, she even carried Kerry Fox along with her. There was no chemistry and the love affair was far from believable. The acting was too over-exaggerated from Kerry Fox, which just got worse and worse and the her final scene where she had to beg Sophie's character to stay with her i felt it was more like cabaret...too much emotion where little was needed, too much grandeur, where it was not needed and her excessive acting made me want to cringe. Like i always say...GO AND READ THE BOOK. they could have done so much more with this film, it had a great story which wasn't washed out enough, ther were too many loose ends and too many conspiracies.
