A respected Soviet submarine commander leaves Murmansk with the latest Russian missile carrying nuclear submarine. . . . and plans to defect to the United States. Only a trusted band of his officers are "in" on his plans. The tension heightens as the stolen sub approaches the coast of the United States. How is the subs commander to avoid America assuming he is about to start a war! Only one man realises what the Russian's plans are. . . .But can he convince the US military? Or will the persuing Soviet Navy destroy the defecter !
