Besides keeping the world safe as James Bond in "Quantum of Solace" this November, Daniel Craig is also set to play a Jew who joins the Russian resistance to battle the Nazis in Edward Zwick's "Defiance." The latest full trailer for the war drama just popped up on the Web, and you can check it out below. Looks darn good!
Liev Schreiber, Jamie Bell and George MacKay co-star. Zwick also directed "The Last Samurai" and "Blood Diamond." "Defiance" opens Dec. 12, 2008.

Is it possible to be taken really, really seriously as an actor while portraying James Bond? I think you'd have to say that Daniel Craig comes the closest of any Bond to further legitimizing himself through other roles. And less than two months after Quantum of Solace, we'll see a whole other side of Craig in Defiance.
He plays one of three Jewish brothers (along with Liev Schrieber and Jamie Bell) who escapes the Nazis and takes refuge in the Belarusian forest where Russian resistance fighters have set up a village for other escapees.
But the brothers want to take the fight to Hitler's troops, as you'll see in this terrific new trailer:

Defiance will get a limited release in time for awards consideration beginning December 12th, but Paramount will platform it around the country in wider release after that.

The first trailer for the Ed Zwick directed Defiance has hit the internets with all the gut wrenching drama and heart breaking action you'd expect from a film centering on three Jewish brothers (Daniel Craig, Liev Schrieber and Jamie Bell) who join Russian resistance fighters in a Belarussian forest to form and protect a makeshift village. Click through to check it out and get it big-sized Here. The resistance begins December 12th. Below there's also a new poster for the film.

Looking for a World War II movie that looks better than Valkyrie? Here it is. Variety has debuted the second full trailer for Edward Zwick's Defiance, which stars Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber, and Jamie Bell as three Polish brothers. I'm a big war movie guy, so these kinds of movies usually excite me more than normal, but I still think this looks absolutely phenomenal. This really looks like it could really compete with Bryan Singer's Valkyrie in terms of production and intensity, but remarkably Paramount is giving it a limited release. After the buzz that this trailer is certain to cause, I'm hoping they change their mind. I really mean it when I say this looks like a huge sleeper hit, maybe even the best movie of the year. It hasn't been shown to anyone yet, most likely because they've been finishing the effects, but it still has

We have a new poster for Defiance, which stars Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell. Not only that, Variety got an exclusive trailer which you can see below. Those of you who have quick eyes may notice that the girl who gets married in the trailer is the same girl who Tim Burton has cast as Alice in Alice…

Earlier today Kris Tapley at InContention told me he had the exclusive look at the poster for Ed Zwick's Defiance (12/12) and now tonight ComingSoon is claiming exclusive rights to the new artwork, which is just one more example of why online picture exclusivity is 100% retarded. So, here's the deal. InContention was first, but ComingSoon's is bigger. Take that however you want, but fight among yourselves I don't have the time. Next up is the "exclusive" new trailer premiering at Variety of which they have graciously made available the embed code so we can watch it directly below. So no fighting over rights to that one. Whew... right? Defiance centers on three Jewish brothers (Daniel Craig, Jamie Bell and Liev Schreiber) who escape Nazi-occupied Poland and head into the forest to join Russian resistance fighters and try to save the lives of other Jews. The film is based on a true story.

I was having some serious thoughts that perhaps last year was a better year for movies, especially when it comes to performances by some of our favorite young actors. But as I look at the list of movie releases this year, I find a couple of awesome performances that we at tMF loves to celebrate. - - - - - - For the first half of the year some of the coolest acting I've seen were from Jamie Bell in Jumper, Anton Yelchin as the cool young dude in Charlie Bartlett, the gang at Cloverfield, the powerful and unforgettable performance of Eddie Redmayne in Savage Grace, Gabe Nevins in Gus van Sant's Paranoid Park, Louis Garrel in Love Songs and the trio of Ryan Philippe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum in Stop-Loss. Here's more of the guys after the jump! - - -

I had the pleasure this past weekend in rediscovering Jamie Bell's engaging and endearing debut performance in Billy Elliot (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0249462/) on television. This film garnered him a BAFTA award for best actor, and is also the film that played a big part in paving the way to the very promising career he's acquired thus far. He is one of tMF's favorites, and one we will continue to keep our eye on. Now a spotlight on his two upcoming projects, his most recent film Defiance (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1034303/), along with two interesting interviews. - - - New Projects: The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i6f1a24d20528a54702da2892e5baa5f8) recently announced news of a new film Jamie Bell is set to star in alongside Joan Allen called In Defiance of Gravity (http://www.

Can anyone catch up to this cool cat? With Shia Labeouf's Eagle Eye taking the top spot at the box-office this weekend it makes four-in-a-row for the actor (not counting the animated Surf's Up) and it made me wonder if the 22-year-old is our next big time actor or if it's just a case of him starring in the right film at the right time that has made his films so popular leaving the title of "The Next Big Thing" up for grabs. Let's face it, Transformers and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were going to make big bucks no matter what, Shia had very little, if anything, to do with their success. One could make the argument that Disturbia opened during a very weak time in 2007 and that accounts for its three week box-office domination with rather modest numbers, winning that third weekend with barely over $9 million.

Colin Firth is set to play it gay again in designer Tom Ford's directorial debut.
The British actor, who played a closeted banker in movie musical Mamma Mia!, is the favourite to portray a gay college professor in Ford's movie adaptation of Christopher Isherwood's 1964 novel A Single Man.
Firth's representative has confirmed the actor is "in discussions" over the role in the film, which will also star Julianne Moore and fellow Brit Jamie Bell.
Ford plans to begin filming the 1960s period piece in Los Angeles in November, according to Eonline.com.

Some rants! I'm beginning to arrive at the conclusion that maybe Jamie Bell is becoming more and more under-rated. Why should Mr. Foe only get a limited release? The young actor is phenomenal, for Chrissakes! If you're a bonafide fan of young actors, its time for you to watch Mr. Foe and demand for more of Jamie Bell. In our weekly top 3, he's definitely covered. So is Zac Efron, and don't tell me he sucks in High School Musical, wait till you watch him in Me and Orson Welles! Another mention, this time,

I'm a big fan of Jamie Bell, and Mr. Foe is definitely one of his most amazing performances as an actor. I know that his next movie Defiance will rock, but Hallam Foe (Mr. Foe) is his most significant role following Billy Elliot and Undertow. I just hope people get to watch and see how talented he is. So, we're bumping this post to give our viewers more info and insights into this amazing film. - - - - - - Berlinale (http://www.berlinale.de/en/HomePage.html) to much acclaim. A few years ago, McKenzie gave us the amazing Young Adam (http://www.sonyclassics.com/youngadam/), featuring Ewan McGregor and the multi-talented Tilda Swinton. With its deliberately slow pace and a hypnotic and remarkable story, it is notable for the powerful and truthful performances of the actors. In Hallam Foe, we witness another film that has its own unique agenda and style.

One of the most important things is to remind yourself of where you are from and be thankful. I don’t for a second take anything for granted. That’s a good way to start your day. says Colin Morgan - - - - - - Never have I been so thrilled and excited about a newcomer since we first noticed Jamie Bell, Gaspard Ulliel and Robert Pattinson. One thing that seems to be common to these exciting new talents is that raw, nervous energy that abounds whenever they appear on screen. I got that feeling when I first saw Jamie Bell (http://themovie-fanatic.com/hotlist/rising_stars/jamie_bell/) in Billy Elliot, dancing and hoping to convince his family that dance is what he wants to do with the rest of his life. The same thing happened when I saw Robert Pattinson (http://themovie-fanatic.com/exclusive_articles/star_news!

Jamie Bell makes the best of a bad situation as Hallam, the titular teenage protagonist of Mister Foe, whose anger, resentment and paranoia drive him from his father's remote Scottish Highlands estate to the streets of Edinburgh in search of solace. Hallam's mother recently drowned in the loch behind the house, the apparent victim of a freak boating accident, and his dad (Ciarán Hinds) has moved on and married his former secretary Verity (Claire Forlani), whom he was seeing before his wife's untimely passing and whom Hallam believes is a gold-digging hooker responsible for mom's death. Bell conveys the kid's withdrawn distrust through restless body language and wary glares, while at the same time flashing steely, cocky defiance during Hallam's confrontations with dad and Verity, as well as nonchalant, gregarious charm in the company of others. His performance has a multifaceted vitality to it,

Jamie Bell has his best role since "Billy Elliot" in "Mister Foe," a darkly comic tale of a twisted teen on the cusp of adulthood.
When we first meet Bell's Hallam Foe, he's a feral 17-year-old who's exiled himself to a treehouse on his father's Scottish estate. He wears a badger-skin headdress, war paint, and sometimes his late mother's dress.
Hallam passes the time spying on his father (Ciaran Hinds, the devilish Mr. Lockhart in Broadway's "The Seafarer") and his beautiful stepmother

This week's trip to the multiplex offers a jaunt around the globe where, amongst other things, there's a case of mistaken ethnicity in Boston, Nic Cage gets another wig fitted in Thailand, there's whimsy and surrealism in Scotland and Matthew McConaughey is right at home in Malibu, where he might finally have found something he does well, maybe.
Strained emotional bonds and the transitory nature of the life of an illegal immigrant provide the backdrop for Chris Eska's quietly affecting family drama that stars Pedro Castaneda as an aging farmhand who loses his job at a chicken farm in a sleepy Texas town, forcing he and his devoted daughter-in-law (Veronica Loren) to relocate to San Antonio to stay with his older children and the grandchildren he never knew he had. As Alison Willmore pointed out in last week's Lunchbox, Castaneda is a first-time actor

British actor Jamie Bell wants to be an action hero after working alongside James Bond star Daniel Craig.
The Billy Elliot actor teamed up with Craig on forthcoming movie Defiance, and was impressed with his credentials.
Bell says, "He runs and does all the head-ducking and diving. And I was like, 'That is the coolest thing I've ever seen'. I'd love to do that.
"It's a bit of a stretch - Billy Elliot as action hero. But I think it can be done."

Welcome to the second edition of tMF Monday Double Whammy! Here is where we post articles about the cast of Twilight and much more! While our first article (http://themovie-fanatic.com/exclusive_articles/film_focus/twilight_sept2008_tmf_series/) is quite serious and deals with how teens relate to their parents and how Twilight is making a difference, this article is lighter and more fun! So in celebration of Miss Stewart's budding career as an actress, we've come up with our own look into her work so far... - - - The young actress has yet to prove her mettle when it comes to leading roles, especially in terms of her ability to attract
