CBS and Fox continued to draw solid ratings for previous hits on Wednesday night, while ABC and NBC continued to flounder with new series and struggling returnees. Fox's Bones was the top-rated show in the 8:00 p.m. hour, averaging 10.3 million viewers -- twice the number who tuned in to ABC's Pushing Daisies in the same time period. CBS took the lead at 9:00 p.m. with Criminal Minds averaging 15.9 million viewers, while viewers deserted Fox, as 'Til Death attracted just $3.97 million. CBS retained the lead at 10:00 p.m. with CSI: NY counting 15.8 million viewers. ABC was far behind in second place, as its Dirty Sexy Money tallied 5.9 million viewers. NBC's Lipstick Jungle placed third with 4.7 million.

Brooke Shields stunned America when she swore during a live TV chat show on Friday night.
The actress was promoting TV show Lipstick Jungle on Conan O'Brien's Late Night show when she lost her cool while recalling a row she had with a taxi driver.
Shields explained her cab driver couldn't understand where she wanted to go as she was rushing to get to a recent New York function, and when she tried to show him the address on her iPhone, the man kicked her out of his taxi.
She explained, "He shoved my hand back and said, 'You get outta my cab, you f**king crazy person.'"
A startled O'Brien said, "Woah... This isn't the story you should be telling."
Shields continued the story by revealing she refused to leave the cab and pretended to act crazy, so the driver would get her to her destination quickly.
She added, "I did not stop talking like a crazy person... He kept jamming to slap me up against the plastic (glass behind him) but because I'm strong and I'm a New Yorker, I grabbed on."
The actress paid the cab driver and gave him a tip, but when she refused to close the door as she got out, the commotion between the driver and herself prompted a nearby cop to get involved.
Shields went on, "I said, 'Do you really think that I'm the one with the problem...?' He (cop) closed the door and I walked away. I thought I was going to be arrested. It was so harrowing."

Living's new US acquisition Lipstick Jungle got off to a poor start in the ratings last night despite a high-profile marketing campaign. The series, from Sex and the City writer Candace Bushnell, drew just 198,000 (1.4%) to the channel in the 10pm hour. The figure was only marginally higher than the 197,000 who watched Living With Jade Goody and a CSI repeat in the same slot last week. Leading the hour was BBC Three, with 462,000 (2.8%) for its EastEnders repeat and 200,000 (1.6%) for new comedy Massive. Ross Kemp: A Kenya Special brought in 532,000 (2.8%) to Sky1 over 90 minutes from 9pm and Film4's screening of the movie Mr & Mrs Smith averaged 388,000 (2.4%) between 9pm and 11.20pm. Also rating higher than Lipstick were ITV3's showing of Prime Suspect: The Final Act, with 244,000 (2.3%); Alan (more)

It's taken 43 years, but Brooke Shields is concentrating on her body for the first time, she tells People. "I've never been one to actually focus on myself physically because everyone else was doing it for me. So I had this detachment, to be honest, for a very long time," Shields said Monday in New York City, at Maybelline's Studio 450 bash celebrating the season premiere of her NBC series Lipstick Jungle, which returns to the air Sept. 24. "I'm now just ... I celebrate my strength," said Shields, showing off perfectly toned legs in a sparkly Badgley Mischka minidress. "I'm not petite," Shields,

I’m in Mexico. I hate it here. Next week I have to be in Japan and I will most likely hate it there also. Why do I hate it here in Mexico? Well, beside the fact that my ability to get on the Internet is hit or miss and I may have to send this column in is by re-writing it from on one of those “Internet café” computers – better known as “suck the money from the American assholes” – there is the massive attack on my very being to buy a damn timeshare.
From the moment I stepped off the plane I was harassed like a freshman pledge during Hell Week. I was offered everything from free meals to cold hard cash just to “come to a short presentation.” Telling these people I was here on business did nothing to stop their assault. I could have been shot in

Tonight's challenge was something every designer dreams of: getting one of their designs on a hit TV show, to be seen by millions of fashion-starved eyes. Of course, you could argue that the contestants on Project Runway achieve that dream literally every week as the season unfolds, but whatever. This means more! Because they're designing for Lipstick Jungle! The Sex & The City-esque show about high-powered businesswomen (who you know are high-powered businesswomen, because they never stop saying things like, "I'm the head of this studio." Or, "I have a magazine, I know what I'm doing.") that was watched by roughly the same amount of people as Project Runway! The contestants' enthusiasm for this task could be best summed up by the look of exhausted confusion on Stella's face, and the very polite round of applause that the group gave Brooke Shields when she walked into...

Ben Silverman might not last long as co-chairman of NBC Entertainment if the Peacock network's fall schedule doesn't boost its sagging ratings.
Silverman's summer lineup - featuring plenty of reality shows like "Celebrity Circus," "Baby Borrowers," "Nashville Star" and the remake of "American Gladiators" - has been a disappointment.
Last season, NBC was in fourth place in the ratings for the 18-49 age group, down 10 percent from a year before, and climbed into second place this summer only on the strength of "America's Got Talent."
There is skepticism over NBC's fall lineup,
