The cast of hit Ugly Betty have praised TV bosses for moving the show from Los Angeles to New York - because they love filming in the Big Apple.
The series was relocated to Manhattan earlier this year to allow workers to enjoy new tax incentives on offer in the city.
The decision prompted protests from employees in L.A. who feared the move would result in job cuts.
But the programme's stars have come out in favour of the new location - with America Ferrera insisting that shooting in New York is much more fun.
She says, "I love living in New York City. I feel like I was here in a past life. I take the subway all the time.
"I took the 7 (train) for the first time the other day. I went over to Queens and hung out over the weekend. It was great!"
And Ferrera's co-star Mark Indelicato agrees, adding, "I definitely want to start to see Broadway shows. That's why I got involved in the business. So hopefully I will get to see as many as I can."

We all know how Kim Kardashian can flaunt her sex appeal and her posterior, with her numerous magazine covers, clothing endorsements and of course, her very popular sex tape. What we do have to admit is how much Kim and her sisters Khloe and Kourtney helped push the limits of being sexy further down the spectrum from the skinny to the curvy and voluptuous. In fact, more and more actresses are getting comfortable with their larger curves. There’s America Ferrera, Kate Winslet and Oprah, all of whom aren’t conforming to the skinny model look that used to be the in thing.
Kim Kardashian and her sisters are just a few of the women who enjoy being in their own skin, and recently, our favorite reality TV princess has done a photo shoot not for another magazine cover, but for a very personal endeavor.

After months of rumors and talks about former child star/tween idol turned drug and alcohol dependent Lindsay Lohan being a guest star on Ugly Betty, the deal was finally done and the 21-year-old actress began shooting her episodes. Word has it that the young actress, who is struggling to get her career back on track, is enjoying her stay on the Ugly Betty set. Moreover, series creator Silvio Horta says that it was fun working with such a great actress.
“Lindsay was terrific - a real pleasure,” Silvio Horta told Stuff. “She came in early and was very pleasant.”
As for Lohan’s character, it seems that she’ll need her Mean Girls experience to back her up, since she will be playing something close to her character in the 2004 film.
“She plays a queen bee girl who Betty went to high school with,” Horta continues. “Her character Kimberly

But the actress' representative has denied the reports, according to American website Usmagazine.com, apparently suggesting the ring could be part of a plot twist on the hit show.

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera has warned the show's producers they might need to pad their star - because she has to lose weight to play a runner in a new film.
The sexy Latina, who plays homely Betty on the hit show, admits her body has already started transforming, thanks to a much needed break she took during the winter writer's strike.
The actress, who turned 24 on Friday, admits a little rest and relaxation over Christmas - and the occasional trip to the gym - gave her a hot new look.
She says, "My face looks different. My body looks different. I definitely feel like I'm growing up."
But she insists her new film, in which she plays an avid runner, won't effect her role in Ugly Betty.
She adds, "It's a role that calls for a completely different physique. She's a runner in a very different emotional space, which calls for me to make physical changes.
"(The producers of Ugly Betty) have been completely respectful of what I want to do with my body."

This week, our cup runneth over with a "Karate Kid" knockoff, a shot-for-shot remake and more documentaries than Michael Moore can shake an overpriced hot dog at.
The recipient of plenty of acclaim at last year's Cannes Film Festival, director Li Yang has a casual yet immediate style that's been touted as something of a Chinese answer to Ken Loach. "Blind Mountain" offers an uncomfortable but powerful indictment of China's one child policy and the sex trade that has flourished under it. The film follows the desperate struggle of a young woman who accepts a job in a remote mountain village, only to discover that she has unwittingly been sold into marriage as a slave.
Opens in New York.
