In anticipation of "The Incredible Hulk" DVD and Blu-ray release later in October, two of the bonus features from the DVD version have been outed. These two special features each present fans with a deeper look into the Louis Leterrier-directed superhero flick. One is a scene that didn't make it into the big screen, while the other displays the making of the movie.
The deleted scene reveals the time Bruce Banner sits down with Dr. Lennord Samson, Betty's new lover. Reassuring Samson that he doesn't come back for Betty, instead for something else, Banner is pushed to the point that he has to carefully explain about his condition. Parts of this scene has been outed in the first trailer. Meanwhile, the other video highlights on Tim Roth and the shooting of one particular scene he has to undergo.
Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release the DVD and Blu-ray version

I have a huge passion for acting but I'm interested in variety, both in the characters I play and the kinds of films I'm involved with, says the 18-year-old British actor, Aaaron Johnson. There is always a constant supply of pretty faces aspiring to star in movies. But only a few of these pretty boys and girls can really make it big-time. I've heard a lot of buzz regarding Aaron Johnson for his role in the British teen flick, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0963743/). That got me curious, and to my surprise, he's also the same young actor who played Eisenheim in The Illusionist. If a small role in the Edward Norton starrer impressed me, what more if its a prominent role? Here's more: Aaron recently appeared as Robbie 'the hottie' in Gurinder Chadha's movie Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging and at 18 has buckets of potential.

A few weeks back I received an early copy of the Iron Man Se DVD, and although we all griped a little bit about the lack of an audio commentary -- I'm pretty sure the fans are still happy with that purchase. So now let's try it again, only instead of Iron Man, we'll be picking through the 3-disc Special Edition of Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk. And while it's definitely a good package (provided you dig the film), here's one simple warning right out of the gate: The third disc is nothing more than a "digital copy" platter. Maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't see the big appeal of "digital copies." Why the hell would I want to overstuff my hard drive -- when I have the DVD sitting right here??
Anyway, the Special Edition has lots to recommend it, and the main feature is certainly

Ryan Gosling, who deserves to be a bigger deal in Hollywood than he is, may play the Green Lantern, who, according to our calculations, is the third most famous green superhero, behind the Hulk and the Green Hornet. (Correct us if we're wrong.) Playing a superhero may seem like a stretch for Gosling, who's kind of a poor man's Ed Norton (brainy, intense, kind of highfalutin'). But Norton played the Hulk. And apparently one version of the Green Lantern's comic book visage was based on the face of Paul Newman, and when we look at Gosling, we see a little bit of Newman too. Plus, what do you do after you play a guy who falls in love with a life-sized silicone love doll, as Gosling did in Lars and the Real Girl? Obviously, you don some lime-green Lycra muscle-tights and fight bad guys.

At this point it's pretty much impossible to cast anyone too unusual as a superhero. If Tobey Maguire, Edward Norton and even Seth Rogen can get out there and fight crime, pretty much anyone can. Still, Ryan Gosling is an actor you'd figure would stick with strictly highbrow fare (he has an Oscar nomination, after all), but Latino Review is saying he might be the newest member of the Justice League. If their source at Warner Bros. has it right, Ryan Gosling will be playing the Green Lantern in his own tentpole movie, set to start shooting next spring. The Lantern is just one member of DC's Justice League, which has been struggling to get its own movie made for some time now. Given Marvel's plans to make individual movies for each of their own superheroes, the only way to make this flood of superheroes interesting is to make the

Not since James Cameron's Aquaman did $116 million in three days has there been this much excitement over a fake movie. Here's the new poster for Smoke Jumpers, the new Vincent Chase movie on Entourage.
As you can see, Smoke Jumpers is loaded: Edward Norton, Charlize Theron, Forest Whitaker, Casey Affleck, and Steve Buscemi co-star. Oh, and Ridley Scott is directing! I guess if it's a fake movie, why not go for broke, huh?
Get a huge version of the poster at iBored.
Look for Smoke Jumpers in theaters on December 16th. But don't look too hard.

Every season TV's Entourage delivers another fake movie for us to laugh at. Last year, Vincent Chase wandered around in a ridiculous fat suit to play a drug lord. This year, it looks like he'll be playing second fiddle to Edward Norton in a forest fire fighting movie called Smoke Jumpers. Ok, it's no Aquaman, I mean that was fake directed by James Cameron. But E thinks it's a great script, so does the super-hot Carla Gugino, and Vince is kind of desperate. Of course no fake movie with a fake star would be complete without a fake movie poster, so here it is: The first poster for Smoke Jumpers. Click to see it bigger.

With a huge budget and a prime early May release date, it came as no surprise that 2008.s Iron Man did well. However, few expected it to soar as high as it did. The film dominated at the box office and ended up with a Us gross of $317 million, a number strong enough to allow it to end up as the second-biggest flick of 2008 behind The Dark Knight.
That meant its take surpassed another high-profile Paramount release, Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and it even allowed the often self-destructive Robert Downey, Jr., to threaten to become an .A.-list star. The flick launched a new franchise that might compete with Spider-Man and Batman for box office dominance, though The Dark Knight may have taken Batman to a different level.
Downey plays Tony Stark, a massively wealthy industrialist who specializes in military hardware. On a trip to

At age 85, Stan Lee is seeing a renaissance of comic book characters he created 30, 40, and almost 50 years ago. Among his superheroes that have made the transition to films are Spider-Man, Iron Man, X-Men, Hulk, Daredevil, and Fantastic Four, with Thor on the Marvel Comics to-do list for 2010.
Moviefone recently chatted with Lee about the past and the future of these characters. He talks about being in the shadow of The Dark Knight this summer, though he says all it means to him is that Iron Man 2 will have to outgross the next Batman movie.
And while he says that he's not in the loop on the high-level discussions anymore, he anticipates full cooperation from the current Marvel stars when it comes to The Avengers.
"I would certainly expect to have all the stars back. Downey just has to be Iron Man. And Ed Norton has to be the Hulk.

(With Choke arriving in theaters this weekend, we're re-running our review of the film from the Sundance Film Festival)
By: Erik Davis
Fans of author Chuck Palahniuk (and trust me, there's a lot of them) have been waiting a long time to witness another one of his fantastic books show up on the big screen. The first Palahniuk adaptation, of course, was Fight Club, which was handled flawlessly by director David Fincher and featured sensational performances from both Edward Norton and Brad Pitt. Choke is an entirely different book, one that relies a little more on comedy, and first-time director Clark Gregg (who also penned the script) decided to turn this adaptation into a straight-up laugher that really works ... some of the time. While I'm a huge fan of Palahniuk, his books and especially Choke, there's only one reason why I would recommend you check out this film, and one reason only: Sam Rockwell.

In my favorite Chuck Palahniuk novel, "Survivor," a former religious cult member-turned-celebrity messiah records his life story into the black-box recorder of a commercial airliner aimed to crash in the Australian outback. "Invisible Monsters" chronicles a former fashion model (before her jaw was blown off by a drive-by shooting) as she road-trips with a pill-popping transsexual to find herself. And I think we all know what happens in "Fight Club," whether we read the book or just watched embittered everyman Edward Norton grapple with the Brad Pitt-looking anarchist sharing his headspace. Palahniuk certainly loves to satirize the nihilism and social diseases wallowing in the underbelly of American culture, so it makes sense in this confusing, tumultuous zeitgeist that a second film would erupt from Palahniuk's pages. In the psychotically funny "Choke," adapted and directed by character actor Clark Gregg ("Iron Man"), Sam Rockwell is perfectly cast

Some rants! I'm beginning to arrive at the conclusion that maybe Jamie Bell is becoming more and more under-rated. Why should Mr. Foe only get a limited release? The young actor is phenomenal, for Chrissakes! If you're a bonafide fan of young actors, its time for you to watch Mr. Foe and demand for more of Jamie Bell. In our weekly top 3, he's definitely covered. So is Zac Efron, and don't tell me he sucks in High School Musical, wait till you watch him in Me and Orson Welles! Another mention, this time,

It seems that, despite his sixty-three years, Michael Douglas still has a penchant for roles where he gets to go horizontal. Variety reports that Millennium Films has set Douglas to play a car magnate with a runaway libido in “Solitary Man.” Susan Sarandon, Danny DeVito and Jenna Fischer are in talks to co-star. Brian Koppelman and David Levien are directing a script written by Koppelman. Production begins in November in New York. Douglas plays a former owner of a car dealership chain whose career and marriage were destroyed by his business and romantic indiscretions. Paul Schiff and Steven Soderbergh are producing. Avi Lerner, Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short, Moshe Diamant and Joe Gatta are executive producers. Koppelman and Levien previously directed “Knockaround Guys” and the 2005 TV series “Tilt." Koppelman and Levien wrote Soderbergh’s next film, “The Girlfriend Experience.” Douglas will topline a Liberace film that Soderbergh is developing to direct at Warner Bros.

Looks like Ed Norton and Marvel are still not playing nice. In an interview with MTV News, the star of this summer’s The Incredible Hulk film said that Marvel hasn’t communicated with him at all about reprising the Bruce Banner role in the planned Avengers team-up film or another solo feature.
Openly sharing his thoughts, Mr. Norton says this:
“The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque,”
“I won’t say [they're] obtuse, but I don’t have any idea what they want to do.”
The Avengers team is expected to feature the big name originals: Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man and possibly Wasp. I would also assume Dr. Henry “Hank” Pym (Antman) would have to be in this film as well.
It seems that Mr. Norton isn’t too happy or excited about the idea of The Avengers, or even knows much about what it is.
“They’ve

The Geek Beat is taking a late-September vacation to Middle Earth -- but it will be back next month and those of you suffering withdrawels can always check the archives. In the meantime, you can relax with a daily round-up of nerdy news bites. (They taste like coconut!) This is relaxing for me, too -- I get to catch up on my reading, my Halloween shopping, and my yoga. I can stay up all night re-reading Preacher (you know I will) and not waiting for an X-Men Origins: Wolverine story. A good way to end summer!
Now, onto today's news ...
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jeffery Erb and Robert Robinson Jr. have launched Framelight Productions with an eye to producing edgy comic and graphic novel adaptations. They already have options on Larry Hama's Dr. Death with Kip and Muffy, Gary Reed's Deadworld, Ralph Tedesco and Joe Tyler's Sins of the Fallen,

Marvel got so much heat for keeping Jon Favreau in the dark about plans for Iron Man 2, you'd think they'd shape up and keep their big-ticket stars in the loop. But, according to an interview The Incredible Hulk star Edward Norton did with MTV, Bruce Banner has also been on the receiving end of a lot of silence from the Marvel bigwigs. "The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque," he told them. "I won't say [they're] obtuse, but I don't have any idea what they want to do." While there are no express plans for a Hulk sequel, as there were for Iron Man the minute it opened, Marvel is still touting an Avengers movie with a 2011 release date. That means if they want Norton as Banner in the movie-- and why wouldn't they?-- they probably should have told him yesterday that they want him in. Even though Hulk

MTV reports that Marvel Studios isn’t giving Edward Norton any indication that they want him to reprise his role as “The Incredible Hulk,” either in a solo sequel or team-up project. “The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque,” Norton told MTV News. “I won’t say [they’re] obtuse, but I don’t have any idea what they want to do.” Norton said he’s also been kept in the dark regarding any plans for him, in his role as Hulk’s alter-ego Bruce Banner, to appear in Marvel’s big team-up project, “The Avengers.” The film, which is expected to feature The Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and several other Marvel characters, is currently scheduled for a 2011 release. “They’ve got this notion of collecting the Marvel characters,” said Norton, who appeared a bit skeptical of Marvel’s ambitious plans for the project. “Who knows where they’ll go?” What about you?

Edward Norton had a pretty successful spin at the Toronto Film Festival. His upcoming cop drama, Pride and Glory, which had been shuffled off the release schedule for early 2008. That film will now come out next month. He also announced he was working on a new movie with his Incredible Hulk co-star, Tim Blake Nelson. Leaves of Grass will begin filming next week in Louisiana, and Norton will play twins in the movie. Sounds interesting.
Then there's the new documentary he's filming about Barack Obama's road to the White House, presuming, I guess, that he gets there.
"It's something that I can't talk about that much, just because we have a relationship with them," Norton told Worst Previews. "We're making a historical record, not something to will play a role in the election. We have an agreement that we won't talk a lot about or publicize until the election is over.
