Rapper, movie star, Cover Girl ... Is there anything Queen Latifah can't do? Yes – discuss her sexuality. "I don't have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay," she told the New York Times. "But I do have a problem discussing my personal life." Queen Latifah's sexuality has been a topic of persistent speculation, the paper notes, "particularly a supposed romance with a female trainer." But the Oscar-nominee – whose newest film, The Secret Life of Bees, opens Oct. 17 – has never discussed her relationships. "You don't get that part of me. Sorry," Latifah, who recently spoofed the vice presidential debate on Saturday Night Live,

Becoming the subject of long persistent speculation that she's lesbian, Queen Latifah determined not to discuss her sexual orientation in public, telling The New York Times' Alex Witchel in an interview over the weekend, "I don't care if people think I'm gay or not". On her determination, she explained, "I don't feel like I need to share my personal life. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway."
"I don't have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life," the 38-year-old star told the magazine. "You don't get that part of me. Sorry," she added. "We're not discussing it in our meetings, we're not discussing it at Cover Girl ... nobody gets that."
Latifah has long been rumored to be dating her personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins. They were even reported to be planning to make their union official following the

Queen Latifah was on SNL this weekend assisting Tina Fey in recreating the VP debates but last night she was cracking up with Will Smith on the red carpet in La for the premiere of The Secret Life of Bees. Will was there as a producer and to support Jada who embraced Fall's latest lace trend and is an executive producer of the film based on the best-selling novel. Dakota Fanning continues to look all grown up while looking perfectly age appropriate. The recently engaged Jennifer Hudson got gorgeous in navy with matching blue eye shadow. The all-star cast already premiered their movie at the Tiff so if you haven't already checked out the trailer we'd suggest doing so before it opens next weekend. Gwen Ifill, who moderated last Thursday's vice-presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin, shrugged off criticism Sunday that she did not keep the two debaters on track. Appearing on NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday, Ifill said that when "Joe Biden decided that he was going to debate John McCain, and [Palin] decided she was going to give a stump speech to the American people, there's very little a moderator can do other than say, 'No, no, no, listen, I asked a question. Please, please answer.'" When host Tom Brokaw noted that Palin had said at the beginning of the debate, "I may not answer the questions the way the moderator and you [Biden] want to hear," Ifill replied, "She 'blew me off,' I think is the technical term." Asked about the Saturday Night Live version of the debate, Ifill remarked, "Being played by Queen Latifah is not a bad thing." Meanwhile, Palin has continued to maintain that she intends to talk directly to the American public "without the filter and let them know what we stand for." In an interview with Fox News correspondent Carl Cameron, Palin said that she wants to apologize for some of the answers she gave Katie Couric last week. "I'm going to try harder," she said, "but I would ask also then that the media tries a little bit harder also ... that there's fairness just objectivity and fairness and truth."

Third time's a charm, Tina Fey has returned as Sarah Palin again on "Saturday Night Live" October 4 episode that sent the show's rating sky-rocketing. The comedienne spoofed Palin's Vice President Debate with her Democratic rival Joe Bidden last week at Washington University in St. Louis, Letterman.
Playing Bidden was "SNL" cast member Jason Sudekis while serving the moderator seat as Gwen Ifill was Queen Latifah. As Ifill, Latifah read out some rules of the debate including when she said, "Due to the historically low expectations for Gov. Palin, were she simply to do an adequate job tonight, at no point cry, faint, run out of the building or vomit, you should consider the debate a tie."
When asked about how her administration will deal with the current financial crisis, Fey as Palin said, "Well first of all, let me say how nice it is to meet Joe Biden. And may I say,

Race. Religion. Politics. According to Mill Valley Film Festival‘s Director of Programming Zöe Elton, those are subjects to avoid when choosing “something breezy” to open and close a film festival. At a recent press conference to announce this year’s line-up, however, she was obviously making ironic note of that supposition. As it turns out, this year’s fest is bookended by films steeped in those three volatile topics.
Opening the festival’s 31st edition on October 2nd will be Religulous and The Secret Life of Bees. The Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center will host the latest from Borat director Larry Charles, a documentary in which Bill Maher ridicules the world’s three major monotheistic religions. Over in Mill Valley, the Sequoia Theater will screen the west coast premiere of Gina Prince-Bythewood’s tale of race relations in 1964 South Carolina, starring Dakota Fanning, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys and Sophie Okonedo.

Queen Latifah has backed the foregoing report about the sequel treatment of hit 2007 comedy musical "Hairspray". Sharing her insight on the matter to MTV News, the actress/hip hop artist stated that she has recently got an e-mail about the sequel saying, "I got an e-mail from people connected to the last movie. It said: 'Keep your ears peeled.'"
Further, the 38-year-old also mentioned that her character Motormouth Maybell will return to the follow-up movie alongside the other original characters and she is up for it. Though noting further that she doesn't have a clue on the possible storyline, she insisted that Adam Shankman and John Waters are developing the material. "I don't know what he's writing or what the concept is," she claimed. "But I'm glad they're doing another 'Hairspray,' and I'm glad he's writing it."
Back in late July, it has been reported that "Hairspray 2" is planned.

Hairspray was one of those rare, accidental instances of quality that's pretty much impossible to repeat. First, the original John Waters movie was pretty good and happy. Then, against all odds, the Broadway adaptation was really good too. The hat trick came when the movie version of the musical, which came out last summer, was a total blast as well, meaning the Hairspray story had come full circle and could finally be retired. Uhhh.... not quite. Rumors about Hairspray 2 just won't go away, and now Queen Latifah is fanning the flames. She told MTV "I got a secret e-mail about that recently. I got an e-mail from people connected to the last movie. It said: .Keep your ears peeled.'" Wait, keep your ears peeled? Doesn't that sound painful? Queen claimed ignorance on any details, only saying she's glad they're doing another, and she's "glad he's writing it." It's

Wayne Wang began making films in the 1980s with modest but enjoyable efforts such as "Chan Is Miss ing" and "Dim Sum: A Little Bit of Heart."
Then he felt the lure of Hollywood, and got behind the camera for less-than-stellar flicks including "Maid in Manhattan" and "Last Holiday," the latter with Queen Latifah.
(He also helmed one of my personal favorities, the little-seen "Chinese Box," with Gong Li, Maggie Cheung and Jeremy Irons.)

During her live "Rock Witchu" concert at Los Angeles' Staples Center on September 17, Janet Jackson delighted fans with her onstage raunchy performance. The concert goers went wild when she pulled a man from the audience, tying him to a wooden frame and caressed him in private places.
At one point, the singer was also seen lowering on top of the man while he was slowly laid down on the stage. The audience was left open mouthed when on the concert's LCD screens, the man was seen whispering, "I Love You, Janet."
The "Feedback" singer kicked off the tour in Canada earlier this month to promote her current effort "Discipline", which has been available for purchase since February. As a headlining act was rapper LL Cool J while former Spice Girls' member, Geri Halliwell, Janet's boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, and Queen Latifah were sitting on the audience.
The gig featured 38 songs,

Madonna's former flame, Hollywood socialite Chris Paciello, has become a victim of vandalism after his famed Los Angeles restaurant was defaced with a graffiti insult.
The nightlife entrepreneur - real name Christian Ludwigsen - has been desperate to make a new start in the city since his name was tarnished after a series of criminal convictions.
Most notably Paciello was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2000 after pleading guilty to charges of murder and armed robbery in Staten Island, New York in 1993.
But his efforts to reinvent himself proved futile when vandals used graffiti to tag the word "murder" onto the front of his L.A. eatery Murano.
Paciello has played host to actors Kevin Connolly, Queen Latifah and basketball star Stephon Marbury at the venue.
He tells the New York Daily News: "Perhaps this is someone's idea of a joke. But vandalism is vandalism."

In a recent interview, Queen Latifah admits that she considers to call her upcoming eight studio album "The L Word". Asked for the reason, Latifah says that she wants to "mess with people's heads" concerning the latest rumor saying that she is a lesbian and has an affair with Laila Ali.
Instead of busting the rumor, Latifah says jokingly that the "L" word can stand for "love" or, just as what people think, "lesbian". She explains as saying, "L was gonna stand for love though or La. Since people want to play games, I like to jab back sometimes just for fun."
For her future project, the New Jersey singer states that she will return to her rap root by working with LL Cool J and Dr. Dre. "Dre helped me write some stuff. He wrote some stuff with me and Ludacris wrote a record for me," Latifah says.
