Lopez Sues Ex-husband For $10 Million Over Film Plans

10 hours ago | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Jennifer Lopez has turned up the heat on her ex-husband's plans to release a satirical documentary about their short-lived marriage - she is suing her him for $10 million (£6.25 million) in damages.

Ojani Noa, who was married to the actress/singer between 1997 and 1998, is preparing a documentary, entitled How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J.Lo and Ojani Noa Story.

Due to a legally-binding settlement in which Noa agreed not to release any information about the former couple's time as husband and wife, Lopez's legal team issued a cease-and-desist missive demanding that he scrap all his plans for the film.

However, Noa has laughed off the threats, insisting his movie is "100 per cent parody" and therefore does not breach the agreement the pair made in 2005.

But Lopez doesn't find the situation amusing, and after hearing home movie footage from the pair's honeymoon would feature in the satire, she filed suit at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday claiming the terms of their settlement have been broken.

Lopez is demanding a permanent ban on Noa releasing any footage of her, and wants a whopping $10 million (£6.25 million) in damages. »

Jennifer Lopez Sues Ex-Husband Over Alleged Home Videos and Movie Project

7 November 2009 8:03 AM, PST | TheInsider.com | See recent The Insider news »

"The Insider" has obtained a multi-million dollar lawsuit filed by Jennifer Lopez against her ex-husband Ojani Noa, who Lopez claims is trying to release a movie about their marriage as well as home-video footage of her. The story follows: Lopez accuses Noa and another defendant, Ed Meyer, of producing and marketing a proposed feature film called ‘How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The JLo and Ojani Noa Story.’ The star singer and actress contends that such a project would violate a settlement agreement (containing non-disparagement and non-disclosure clauses) she and Noa entered into in 2005. Lopez also alleges that Meyer sent her attorney an email stating that he’d purchased from Noa the “exclusive rights” to “11+ hours of previously unseen home video footage” of the ex couple. She claims a second email from Meyer to her lawyer described the footage as showing Lopez “in [a] revealing lack of clothing, and in sexual situations, »

Taylor Swift's 'Saturday Night Live' Gig: What You Can Expect

6 November 2009 11:59 AM, PST | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

Tomorrow night, Taylor Swift will once again grace the stage at Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center when she serves as both the host and musical guest on this week's edition of "Saturday Night Live." It's familiar territory for Swift, who was last on the show back in January, making this her second appearance overall (and the second in this calendar year). Considering the cast hasn't shifted that dramatically between last season and this one, she should be comfortable and familiar with her surroundings. As her promos for this week's show — as well as the promos she cut with host Neil Patrick Harris back in January — she's perfectly comfortable with banter.

Swift wouldn't reveal very much about this weekend's show (except that nothing would be off limits), there are a few things that are almost certain to happen on Saturday night.

20 Ways to Get Your "Arrested Development" Movie Fix*

5 November 2009 7:09 PM, PST | ifc.com | See recent IFC news »

*Until they actually make the movie

Forget Scientology or Heaven's Gate. Today, the biggest cult in our country may very well be the teeming masses anxiously awaiting the return of "Arrested Development." After years of rumors and dashed hopes, it seems the beloved TV show will finally, for real, this time, be reincarnated on the big screen.

But don't break out your Cornballers yet: the film isn't set to hit theaters until 2011. How will you last that long? While you can treasure your DVD collection of all three seasons (or, for that matter, catch re-airs on IFC), you'll probably want to vary things up in the year-plus before we get sweet relief. Off the top of your head, you might know to watch Michael Cera in "Juno," but where can you find Judy Greer in a role as crazy as Kitty Sanchez? Will Arnett as a man as bumbling and self-involved as Gob? »
