Flockhart's Mother Follows In Her Footsteps

6 October 2008 5:10 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Calista Flockhart's mother is to follow in her daughter's footsteps - she has taken up acting during her retirement.

After spending her working life as an English teacher in Illinois, Kay and the star's father Ronald retired to Tennessee - where she has thrown herself into amateur dramatics.

And the Ally McBeal star, her fiance Harrison Ford, and her adopted son Liam were on hand to watch Kay's stage debut.

Flockhart explains, "She had done some acting in college. And then she was a teacher her whole life. Then my father and her retired and moved to Tennessee, and she just did a production of Driving Miss Daisy. Liam and Harrison and I flew down. She was very good. She made me laugh."

Mother Flockhart Struggled To Go Back To Work

6 October 2008 12:28 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Calista Flockhart fell apart when she gave up her role as a full-time mother to return to acting.

After raising adopted son Liam from infancy, the former Ally McBeal actress returned to the small screen in 2006 to star in hit U.S. show Brothers + Sisters.

And she never realised it would be so hard.

Flockhart tells C Magazine, "All of a sudden, I wasn't home to pick Liam up from school, and I realised it wasn't really Ok, and I wasn't happy, and I was scratching my eyes out. I couldn't believe I'd put myself in this situation."

Flockhart was grateful she had boyfriend Harrison Ford to fall-back on - as the Indiana Jones star became a full-time dad.

She adds, "(I) Was very comforted knowing that Harrison was there - he really stepped up and became a stay-at-home dad."

Harrison Ford says 'Indy 5' may happen

5 October 2008 9:15 PM, PDT | From screeninglog.com | See recent screeninglog news

Now that Steven Spielberg's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" grossed $316.8 million domestically and about $770 million worldwide, it's no surprise the guys behind the film are already thinking about another sequel. After all, it's all about the money and not the quality, right?

In a recent interview with Geoff Boucher at the Los Angeles Times, Harrison Ford said George Lucas is already working on an idea for a fifth "Indiana Jones" film.

"It's crazy but great. George is in think mode right now," Ford told Boucher. "It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again."

While I didn't exactly hate "Crystal Skull," I wasn't really impressed by the latest installment either. I personally don't need to see another Indy adventure, but who knows,

Harrison Ford says 5th Indy Being Planned

5 October 2008 7:47 PM, PDT | From Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news

After the critical drubbing George Lucas has received as a writer and storyteller, the news that he’s conceiving the plot for a fifth Indiana Jones movie must be met with skepticism.  Still, Harrison Ford told The Los Angeles Times that Lucas has a plan. "It's crazy but great," Ford said. "George is in think mode right now."

While Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull may have grossed $318 million domestically and $770 million worldwide, it was also poorly reviewed noting it lacked the spark and originality that fueled the franchise earlier.

"It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again," the 66-year old actor told Geoff Boucher.

He spoke further about franchising the character in other media and said outright he would never consent to voicing an animated incarnation.

'New Scientist' Polls Readers About Best Sf

5 October 2008 8:59 AM, PDT | From Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news

Even scientists like to have fun every now and then.  England's New Scientist magazine will be exploring the Sf world in their November issue and along the way want to get reader input on the best and worst to date.

“We plan to explore this question in a special edition of New Scientist out on 15 November – as well as reviewing the best new science fiction books and talking to some of the world's leading writers,” they write at the magazine’s website.

To engage readers prior to the issue’s release, they ask for people to vote on their favorite science fiction books and films.  In order to kick start the debate, they polled themselves and named Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy the best book. “Hitchhiker's Guide as the out-and-out best sci-fi book by several dead whales and one bowl of petunias. Harrison Ford talks Indiana Jones 5

4 October 2008 8:00 PM, PDT | From MoviesOnline.ca | See recent MoviesOnline news

Indiana Jones 4 was a fun movie. It did not quite have the magic for me that the first films did but it was a fun action tale that brought back a familiar character many of us love. Harrison ford told the La Times that indeed Indiana Jones 5 is coming. “It’s crazy but great. ââ.¬Â¦ George is in think mode right now” about Indy V. Ford continued, “It’s automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it’s not surprising that some people want to do it again.” The 66 year-old star said th...

Lucas Still Scheming About Indy 5

4 October 2008 12:48 PM, PDT | From cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news

George Lucas seems to always have his thinking cap on, cooking up some way to annoy his former fans, but right now that cap has apparently turned into a fedora. Harrison Ford, speaking with The Los Angeles Times, confirmed what Lucas himself has been telling the press since May-- a fifth Indiana Jones is most certainly in the stew. "George is in think mode right now," Ford said. "We did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again." When pressed on specifics of who exactly was involved in dreaming up the fifth movie, Ford gave the strangest, most non-specific answer possible: "Really, it comes from the ethos, from the ether. It's natural. It's a way of nature, of course, success breed opportunities ... also we don't stay as closely in contact as

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has made $783 million worldwide, and is expected to add more $$$ when it is released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 14th. Harrison Ford Discusses Another 'Indiana Jones' Movie

4 October 2008 5:53 AM, PDT | From GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news

Harrison Ford is sounding downright optimistic about a fifth Indiana Jones adventure, which is weird because he doesn't sound like he was too sure of the fourth one, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

"It was never a lead-pipe cinch," Ford told The Los Angeles Times. "It was a calculated business risk but I believe it paid off. I was somewhat surprised and gratified to see it did the business that it did. It was successful in almost every market."

Even right up to the film's debut, Ford apparently had some jitters. "The first time we showed it to a disinterested outside audience was at Cannes. That's a crap shoot of the first order," said Ford.

"Not only is that audience sophisticated and film-knowledgable, it's French! And it's their country and their festival and we somewhat expected to be seriously slapped around. But we were not, we were embraced...it was very gratifying.

Ford on more Indy

4 October 2008 4:22 AM, PDT | From JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news

I'm not sure I could handle another embarrassing adventure of our beloved aged archaeologist Indiana Jones (and/or his newly discovered offspring), but as Stephen Colbert would say, the marketplace has spoken (to the tune of nearly $800 million in worldwide box office, and many more millions with the impending DVD release). So unsurprisingly, another Indiana Jones movie is being considered. Harrison Ford talked to the La Times about another possible sequel, mentioning that "George...

Harrison Ford Talks Indiana Jones 5

3 October 2008 8:22 PM, PDT | From ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news

Uh oh.

Harrison Ford spoke with the La Times today revealing that George Lucas is thinking up a story for the next installment to the Indiana Jones franchise. Harrison says:

“It’s crazy but great”

Well I for one, think the opposite.

It’s not crazy because Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull made a ton of money. George Lucas likes said money and likes continuing his two biggest franchises (even if they are getting worse by doing so).

It’s also not great because Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was the worst of the four movies in the series, and I can’t imagine another one being much better then the last. Look at where we were left off - with a marriage, a kid called “Mutt”, and aliens… the more I repeat that and think that this is Indiana Jones and all of that actually happened…

George Lucas 'Cooking Up' Fifth 'Indiana Jones' Plot

3 October 2008 7:37 PM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

Despite conflicting comment from "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" actress, Karen Allen, on another "Indiana Jones" film, it looks like that the man behind the franchise success, George Lucas, has been working on developing suitable plot for the whip-cracking adventurer's fifth movie. On Friday, October 3, star Harrison Ford hinted the momentum gain for the next installment to L.A. Times Blog, Hero Complex, stating, "It's crazy but great...George is in think mode right now."

Explaining further on the sequel possibility, the Dr. Henry Jones, Jr.'s depicter pointed out, "It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again." On who may push on the idea for the fifth film, the 66-year-old insisted that no one has particularly done that saying, "Really, it comes from the ethos,

Harrison Ford Confirms Another Indiana Jones Gaining Momentum

3 October 2008 5:56 PM, PDT | From firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news

We've neglected to write about any potential continuation of the Indiana Jones saga because its been such a touchy subject ever since Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hit theaters in May. I'm pretty sure that most people hated the fourth film and don't want to see another one at all, but there are also those die hard Indiana Jones fans who do want to see it continue. Geoff Boucher of the La Times blog Hero Complex caught up with the legendary Harrison Ford recently. Apparently George Lucas is already hard at work on coming up with a story for a fifth film. Ford says, "It's crazy but great... George is in think mode right now." The first question I've got to ask when I hear this news is: why? Well, remarkably, Crystal Skull ended up making $317 million domestically and $783 million worldwide, which is more than enough to warrant a ...

Greg Kinnear

30 September 2008 2:01 PM, PDT | From avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news

Greg Kinnear came to stardom relatively late in life, after a series of lead-up careers, first as an entertainment reporter, then as a talk-show host on The Best Of The Worst, Later With Greg Kinnear, and Talk Soup. His cinema breakthroughs came in the mid-'90s, when he co-starred opposite Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond in the remake of Billy Wilder's Sabrina, earned an Oscar nomination for his role in As Good As It Gets, and stole scenes as the smug Captain Amazing in Mystery Men. His star has risen steadily since, with key roles in the breakout audience favorite Little Miss Sunshine and the critically praised The Matador, though he often ends up as easily the best thing in less-winning movies like Fast Food Nation, Invincible, and Auto Focus. Kinnear currently has two movies in theaters: In the comedy Ghost Town, he co-stars as a ghost trying to get the.

DVD Review: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

30 September 2008 8:17 AM, PDT | From The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news

When a legendary movie franchise returns after a long hiatus, the results don.t usually seem to be pretty. In 1990, The Godfather Part III attempted to live up to its two classic predecessors and failed miserably; it offered a decent flick at best, but not one that remotely compared to the earlier movies.

The Star Wars series returned from a 16-year break with 1999.s The Phantom Menace. Though the flick earned tons of money, it inspired widespread derision from fans. Very few . if any - find the .Prequel Trilogy. to match up to the .Original Trilogy., and many fans see Phantom Menace as the worst of the bunch.

Back in the 1980s, the Indiana Jones films reigned supreme. 1981.s Raiders of the Lost Ark, 1984.s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and 1989.s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade all found massive audiences and entertained a generation of fans.
